Methodology and sources

visite.tur.br does not write the numbers on its pages: it calculates them. Each indicator in the data panel comes from an official source and a formula that we explain below. When a figure is an estimate, we say it is an estimate; when it has a date, we show the date. The idea is simple: to be the reference you can check.

Best time to visit

We calculate a month-by-month comfort score from INMET's Climatological Normals (1991–2020): maximum temperature, rainfall volume and rainy days, and humidity. The ideal window is the run of months with the best scores, not an opinion.

Car trip cost

We add up fuel (route distance ÷ average consumption × the week's gasoline price, according to ANP) and the tolls on the stretch. Distance and time come from routing over the open map (OSRM/OpenStreetMap).

Crowding by date

We cross-reference the date with the calendar of national public holidays, school breaks and the Carnival and New Year's Eve windows to estimate how busy it will be. It is not a visitor count; it is an indicator of when to avoid (or take advantage of) the crowds.

Sun and golden hour

Sunrise, sunset, day length and the golden hour are calculated with the solar equation (NOAA algorithm) from the destination's coordinates and the date, without relying on any external service.

Packing list

A simple rule reads the month's normals (minimums, maximums, rain, humidity) and suggests what to bring: a coat when the minimum is low, a rain jacket when it rains a lot, sunscreen when the sun is strong.
